As the prophetic clock slowly ticks toward the brink of eternity, an ever growing number of Believers have been delving into a portion of scripture they once may have thought irrelevant or too difficult to understand . . . The Book of Revelations. This new area of study is likely to include the book of Daniel, and other scripture that contain much prophetic revelation and insight into the times in which we now live. While the study of Escotology clearly outlines all of the major players in the last days scenario, many as dismayed, even shocked to find out that the United States does not appear to be included. This raises the question, “what will become of the US?” How could the most powerful nation on the planet, with the strongest economy and military strength second to none not be at the core of all that is about to take place? While no one knows the exact answer with any certainty, one thing is certain . . . the United States is not the central figure on the world stage in the days before the return of Messiah Jesus. And there are good reasons for this! God’s New Focus: “For I would not, brethren that ye be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fullness of the gentiles be come in. And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Zion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob” Romans 11:25-26 During the dispensation of the Gentiles, God caused blindness to come, in part, over His Chosen People, because of their unbelief, and in order that the gentiles might come to faith, and accept the Jewish Messiah! The “fullness of the Gentiles” comes to an abrupt halt upon the beginning of the seven years that mark the Time of Jacobs Troubles - The Great Tribulation, when God again turns His attention back to National Israel and His people. The Curse: America has become the greatest and most blessed nation that ever existed for no other reason than it was founded upon Christian faith and godly principals. As a blessed Christian nation, it opened it’s doors to all people, and provided a forum for free worship which extended even to the Jews. In fact, the U.S. was Israel’s biggest supporter and ally, from it’s rebirth in 1948. In this generation, our beloved country has made one, and is about to make a second fatal error that will bring it to it’s knees and cause it to take a back seat on the world stage. The first error was to stray from the Godly principals that were the foundation of our nation, with the greatest demonstration of ungodliness being the government approved slaying of our children on the abortionists table. We have offered up our young on the heathern alter of a “woman’s right to choose” and embrace a “humanistic philosophy” that tells us there is no absolute right or wrong, and we are all free to do our own thing. This “humanistic philosophy” has trickled down into every corner of our life-style, and seeps out of our national pores as homosexuality, immorality, drugs, and every other form of vile affection. God judged and destroyed Sodom for these same sins. Can America expect anything less? The second error is taking place as we speak! America will turn it’s back on Israel, and in fact, is already distancing itself with every confrontation in the Middle East. Scripture tells us that when Jesus returns, ALL the nations of the world will be turned against Israel, and that day is fast approaching. God made a promise to Israel and the Hebrew people that most gentiles don’t want to hear about. This promise is as relevant today as the day it was uttered, because it is part of an everlasting covenant that God made with the first Jew - Abraham! It is part of the Abrahamic Covenant, where God said this to Abram, “And I will bless those that bless thee, and curse them that curse thee, and in thee shall all of the families of the earth be blessed” Genesis 12:3 History confirms that every nation that blessed Israel, was in turn richly blessed by God. On the other hand, every nation that cursed Israel was also cursed, suffered and fell from power. While space does no permit me to do a detailed history study here, the Roman Empire is a classic example. This was an empire that once conquered the entire know world, and had no equal. But when it turned the sword against God’s Israel, it crumbled apart, and became no more. In like manner, as the United States continues to withdraw it’s support from Israel, it can expect to suffer the same fate. In time, only Believers will stand with Israel against the Antichrist world system. It is with deep sadness that we are witnessing God’s judgement upon our country because of our national sin. We have been found wanting and are paying the price. The headlines shout out the punishment for our error, as our national foundation starts to crumble. If there ever was a time for Christians to let their light sign brightly in a dark world, it’s now! Believers, who are indwelled by the spirit of God, have spiritual vision, that can discern the “times and the seasons”! Unbelievers think everything is just fine, as did unbelievers when Noah entered the Ark. When the rains came, they knew they had “missed the boat”! Many more will now “miss the boat” when Jesus returns in glory. I want to challenge you to share Jesus with all who will listen. In the routine of daily life, it is east to lose sight of the urgency that we should feel, as we await the Masters return. If someone were to ask you “what would you be doing today, if you knew Jesus was returning tomorrow”, how would you answer? Shouldn’t we be able to answer, “I wouldn’t do anything different, because I’m doing all that God wants me to do now”!
